The Lowdown on Cabbage Soup Diet

Cabbage soup diet is a seven-day diet plan that promises a ten- to- fifteen- pound weight loss as you eat as much soup as you desire varying the soup recipe slightly which includes an array of low-calorie veggies like onions and tomatoes, and adding specific foods to be eaten each day (including potatoes, more vegetables and fruit juices).
The plan in details:
Day one
- eat as much fruits as you like except banana
- drink unsweetened tea, cranberry juice and water
- eat as much soup as you may
Day two
- fresh, raw or cooked vegetables
- steer clear of dry beans, sweet corn and peas
- eat as much soup as you like
Day three
- eat as much fruits. Vegetable and soup
- stay away from baked potato
Day four
- eat as much as eight bananas
- drink as much as skim milk
- eat as much soup as you can
Day five
- you may have 10 to 20 ounces of beef
- drink at least eight glasses of water
- you may eat baked or broiled chicken
- eat as much soup as you like
Day six
- eat beef and vegetables
- eat as much soup as you may
Day seven
- eat brown rice, unsweetened fruit juices, and vegetables
- do not eat bread, carbonated beverages and alcohol
Although this diet is meant to jump start your weight loss, since it will result to your body going to starvation mode, cabbage soup diet is not meant to be a long-term regimen as it does not offer enough calories to keep you satisfied in the long run, plus you will find that eating the same food, even in large quantities and generous helpings, will soon become tedious and tiresome.
