Fasting To Help You Lose Weight Quickly And Safely

Fasting is becoming a popular method in losing weight. If carried out properly, it offers a quick and safe solution to lose excess weight when all the other methods have failed. Unfortunately if you are to use fasting to lose weight, you should not consider fasting as a long-term solution for losing weight or as a substitute for your weight loss program. Here’s why.

How Fasting Can Help You Lose Weight Quickly and Safely

If you want to use fasting to lose weight fast, this means that you’re going to reduce your calorie consumption by restricting the intake of food, liquid or both. You might prefer to use your own formula but for those wanting ready-made solutions can try liquid diets, Master Cleanse and other similar stuffs that you can buy from your local health store.

If you’re familiar with liquid diet, we could say that fasting works similarly that way. It usually involves an exclusive intake of liquid during the day. This drink contains all the necessary nutrients that your body needs to function properly but only in a very limited proportion. Since you’re no longer giving your body the food it needs, it will turn itself into starvation mode. During this phase, the stored fats are processed to fuel the body and you lose weight consequently.

You tricked your body into thinking that there’s no food available and it must use up all the necessary stored fat to power it up. This is a brilliant idea of losing weight and in fact, countless of people reported that they are losing as much as 4 pounds of weight everyday via fasting.

Fasting usually last for about a week, but some diets are encouraging people to maintain them a little longer. Diet programs that use juice diets particularly emphasized the continued intake of juices and raw food to maintain good health and the desired weight even after the initial fasting period has ended.

Fasting is safe as long as you know what you’re doing. Not eating for a few days to fit that sexy dress is probably what’s on your mind right now. The only downside we could think right now is that you have to undergo starvation if you are to use fasting for weight loss.

Keep in mind that you are only taking one kind of liquid during the day, which means you’re throttling your body with the needed vitamins, minerals and nutrients. You’ll feel dizzy, become irritable, mood swings, nausea etc. Physical and emotional stresses set in.

But you don’t have to feel that way, of course. Why not use fasting as a way to supplement an existing diet or exercise plan or better yet, skip fasting and engage in a weight loss program, which is more on the safer side. All the same, whether you go fasting to lose extra weight or planning to use a diet program, you should talk to your doctor before starting it.

If you have chronic illnesses, under meditation or past health problems, the more you should see a doctor. Pregnant women or those trying to conceive should do the same as well.
